West Coast Traditional

July 29, 2014

I’ve had the pleasure of living in NYC, Austin and now LA. One bold difference in these amazing cities, is how traditional design varies in architecture, decor and overall feel. Walking into an East coast traditional-style home you’ll find classical architecture with elegant antiques. West coasters sing to a different tune. Touching on the classical “Cape Cod” moldings and general architecture, the twist is captured in the furnishings which tend to be more modern with vibrant colors.

Here’s a piece of a project we recently worked on for a traditional-style recreation room. The homeowners wanted a place to relax, watch movies, play games with the kids and bring a lively, more relaxed twist to their traditional style.
